VBG reinforces contact with customers

2005-07-01

To further strengthen contacts with end customers and bodybuilders throughout Europe in the same way as has already happened in the Scandinavian countries, VBG will now be establishing a wholly-owned subsidiary in the UK at midyear.

Natural way of working

“Being close to our customers has always been an obvious advantage at VBG. We are convinced that close communication helps us to develop better products perfectly adapted to the demands of the market,” explains Per Ericson, Sales Manager for the VBG Group and Managing Director for the new company VBG Limited. The British subsidiary will be based in Warrington in Cheshire, with what for the British VBG customers will be a well-known staff. Ann Houghton who will be responsible for customer services has been working with VBG products since the mid 80s and will be joined by Colin Barge and Howard Ostle, who both have solid experience in the British truck industry.

Perfect timing

VBG’s products have in recent years been marketed by Fontaine International Europe Ltd in the UK, a function that will now be taken over by VBG’s newly established subsidiary.

“We are taking this step to further improve our good customer relations on an important market undergoing rapid transformation. Following on from this strategy we started our own sales company in France last year, and the UK is now next on the list. We have clear evidence that this strategy creates the prerequisites for growth, and we expect to repeat our success once again,” adds Per Ericson.

Continued Co-operation

The establishment of VBG Limited does not mean, however, that co-operation with Fontaine will cease. VBG will continue to market Fontaine’s turntable programme in the Scandinavian countries.
