VBG launches new drawbar concept for box and dump trucks

VBG is now introducing Optimal – a completely new type of drawbar for vehicles which need to reverse onto the drawbar. Even this drawbar is based on VBG’s unique modular concept, which ensures great flexibility.

Large variation in length and width
The new telescopic Optimal bar is designed with bolted joints, which eliminates welding during the installation. The module design means that the length can be adjusted from 2.15 to 4.50 metres. Attachments are available with c/c dimensions of 700 to 1200 mm, in ”Vibra Block” or ”Briab” variants. In combination with four variants of eyes, this basically covers all existing combinations of vehicles.

Well-tested, profitable technology

“The Optimal bar is based on the same well-proven and effi cient system as VBG’s Multi and Multi XF drawbars, with the same positive effects in terms of simpler logistics and stocking of spare parts. This contributes towards cutting costs for bodybuilders as well as users,” explains Ragnvald Andersson, who has been the project leader for the new drawbar concept.

High finish and smart solutions

The Optimal bar naturally receives VBG’s unique ten-stage surface treatment, either with a durable ED finish or supplemented with a high gloss powder coating. Attachments for springs and drawbar lifts are available as accessories.

“Many customers have expressed their preference for routing cables and hoses well-protected inside the drawbar. We have been able to realise this by means of predrilled holes for this purpose on the underside of the bar,” adds Ragnvald Andersson.

Simple installation, minimum downtime

“VBG continually strives to find cost-effective and overall economic solutions for our users. The unique design with bolted joints means, for example, that the Optimal bar can easily be installed by just one person without the need for special tools, and damaged parts can also be quickly and easily replaced.
