MFC - Multi Function Coupling
With MFC you connect the trailer directly from the cab. Even the pneumatics, the power, and soon the hydraulics, can be connected – a lot easier, more conveniently and much safer than before.
The MFC system includes a coupling part with integrated drawbeam, a display for integration in the dashboard, a wedge-shaped drawbar head that fits the Optimal and Multi XF drawbars, and a connector for the power and pneumatics.

During the connection process the ultrasonic sensors send signals to the control panel in the cab to show the position of the drawbar head in relation to the coupling within in area that covers a length of 4 metres, a height of 0.9 metres and a width of 1.5 metres. Service tools are used for the simple and correct dismantling and fitting of bushings. The tools can be combined and can therefore be used to replace the bushings on all the couplings in VBG’s range, including most previous models.
The connections for the brake air and electrical system are integrated in the coupling and drawbar head. When the head is in position it is secured with double locking keys. The brake air and electrical system are then connected automatically.
The control panel in the cab makes connecting and disconnecting smooth and easy. The display shows when the connection process is starting, when you can start reversing, and when the connection is ready. When the green coupling symbol goes on the system is connected and locked, and you can start driving.
