Underrun Protection

VBG has a complete range of underrun protection for trucks and trailers. The system of safety beams and endplate kits is adapted to most of the types of vehicles, frame widths and installation requirements to be found on the market. All units are well-proven and comply with international regulations.

Protective beams

VBG supplies protective beams made of either aluminium or steel. The aluminium beams are anodized and fi tted with attachments for splash protection, they are also available in versions with fitted refl ector strips. The steel beams are supplied as standard with basic zinc manganese phosphatisation and a high-finish top coat and good corrosion resistance.
All the protective beams are provided with plastic end fittings. The beams are available in various lengths for a variety of vehicles and frame widths.
All the protective beams are tested and type approved in accordance with EU directive 70/221, both separately and in combination with VBG’s endplate kits.

All the protective beams are supplied with the requisite bolt kits for installation on the vehicle.

Endplate kits for underrun protection

VBG has a range of different endplate kits for alternative installations of underrun protection. The hole configurations at the ends are adapted to the standard VBG drilling plan and can be combined with all our protection beam types. The securing brackets are supplied finished as standard in basic manganese phosphate and a high-finish top coat giving good corrosion resistance.
